Does the butler Knock on the door

I have read on this board that the butler calls before he brings breakfast etc. I just wondered does he then knock on the door and wait to be let in or does he enter using his pass key? Just wanted to know before I get a suprise.

The suites have door bells on the STAR and the DAWN at least. We told our butler just to ring the bell and come in. That way we didn't have to get up and answer the door.

Our butlers on the Sun 11/05 knocked as they were opening the door. They also called out with a "hello" as they were coming in. I was changing in the bedroom one night when both butlers came in with our dinner :eek:

On our recent cruise on the Spirit, the butler always rang the doorbell before entering the suite.

He was great!

Roel and Theodore would call first, then ring the bell on the Sun -- wow they were great, I miss them both so much!!!!

On the Sun, we had breakfast in our suite during the entire cruise. Each time, our butler called about 5-10 minutes before arriving. And, he rang the doorbell on his arrival.

 

While we were in the suite during the day, he would ring the doorbell before opening the door (to drop off afternoon goodies, snacks, chocolates, etc:) ).

On the Dawn, the butler knocked and called "hello" as he entered. A few times it was a close call. Not a lot of warning.

On the Dawn, our butler would sneak into the room, set up our breakfast and then give us a wake up call us from right there! :D We specified the night before, dining area or balcony.....

 

I want my Anshuman! And I know he reads CC :p
