Lounge chairs still on Wrap-arounds?

When we sailed on the Glory (7/1/06) I called and asked the purser (as I always do when we are in wrap-arounds) if they could have 2 lounge chairs brought down. They indicated they were not sure if they could do that any longer. Of course I explained that this had never been a problem before. The next day, with no loungers in sight, I went to the purser - concierge line. They informed me that, due to the recent FIRE on Princess, they were no longer putting those chairs on the passenger balconies.

Can anyone who has sailed in the last several weeks confirm any of this, or was the purser on the Glory just not "accommodating"?

THANKS

Tom

Tom,

We were on the Miracle the end of May and there were two loungers, two reclining chairs an two regular chairs. We were in 4237. Going on the legendJan 3 in 4228, hope it is the same, DW wont like it as well without the loungers.

It's possible that they are more flammable. The pad might smolder if a cigarette landed there, I suppose. Lots of us have seen cigarettes littering balconies, having come from somewhere higher up....

Had the lounge chairs in May...but I've never had "pads" for them...Did I miss something?

I don't see the connection between the fire on Princess and allowing lounge chairs on the balconies. Are lounge chairs more flammable than the other chairs?

Princess had beautiful, very comfortable chairs with thick padded covers. Guess the padding added "fuel to the fire" and is definitely more flammable that a "bare" chair.
