attitudeda Posted August 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2006 I know it's been asked many times before, but I can't find the answer or link to my question. If you book a cruise for a relative or freind while on board will they receive the onboard credit.
raerae Posted August 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2006 We have done that and they DID receive the on-board credit. Cindy ;)
MercedMike Posted August 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2006 Yes, I know this is the RCI board ... But on our last Princess cruise, we booked a cruise onboard, and they gave us two vouchers to give to friends so that THEY can also get the onboard credit! I thought that was a pretty good promotion. huntedbear Posted August 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2006 We are considering booking our next cruise while on the Vision next month (CAN'T WAIT!!!) Is the onboard credit for the cruise you are on, or is it for the cruise you book?? I love extra spending money, just want to know if it's instant gratification...hehehe
Merion_Mom Posted August 15, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 15, 2006 hunted: It's for the cruise that you are booking. :) (they're not going to give you the credit on your current cruise! - after all, you may never take that cruise)

Rare TPKeller Posted August 20, 2006 #12 Share Posted August 20, 2006 actually $100 for between 6-8 nights... $200 for 9+ ;) A~ Yep, and if you take a value priced cruise in the fall, this can make for an excellent deal! I did this on my last cruise, but booked a short one way out, then moved the booking to my current cruise, and it became a deal way too good to pass up. Sue L Posted August 20, 2006 #13 Share Posted August 20, 2006 Is the OBC each per person? or per room? Sue
Rare TPKeller Posted August 20, 2006 #14 Share Posted August 20, 2006 Is the OBC each per person? or per room? Sue I THINK it's per cabin. When I booked my other person was TBD, and I will be sailing with a buddy from work, so I will just have the entire credit placed on my account. I'm sure someone with more details can fill us in. rubrrick Posted August 20, 2006 #15 Share Posted August 20, 2006 It's "per cabin" and ranging from $50.............to $200 depending on the cruise length as outlined by many other above. And it's strickly a shipboard credit meaning you can't take anything left over as a cabin credit towards your next cruise. Rick

Rick Thanks Rick, Are there any restrictions with how you spend it on the ship? Excursions, shops, drinks, casino, etc? All the normal things? addie Posted August 20, 2006 #17 Share Posted August 20, 2006 Is there any way to ensure that this OBC has been actually applied, or will be applied, before boarding?? I booked my next cruise while on board my last cruise, and I would like to be sure it will be there, when I arrive. Should I call Crown and Anchor? I don't see it online anywhere in my reservation. Thanks you

Murphy Posted August 20, 2006 #19 Share Posted August 20, 2006 Booking onboard to get credit for someone else will NOT always work. It didn't for me! Last fall, while on the Enchantment, I attempted to book 4 cabins for a cruise this fall. They allowed "my" cabin to get the booking onboard credit, but refused to give it for the other 3 cabins, as the people who would be staying in those cabins were not onboard when I booked. Give it a try though! You might be luckier than I was.
darkauf Posted August 20, 2006 #20 Share Posted August 20, 2006 You can call Crown and Anchor and they will tell you whether or not the onboard credit has been placed on your account. If you received it, it will show up within a day or so on your account when you get on the ship. You can check on your tv or go to the purser's desk and they will confirm. BTW, you can also go to the casino after you sail and take that money out of your account or leave it there for credit. In some cases, people have obc for having the stock and for booking onboard another ship. They may find that they don't use up all that credit on their cruise. At that point, head for the casino and take out the money because as someone else said, use it or lose it. They don't give obc back to you at the end of your sailing.
