We were looking at hotels over the weekend for a cruise that we hope to be taking in Nov 2007. I know that is a long time off.

 

But I see that there is a new Embassy Suites going to open up this October.

 

What can you tell me about this place?

My wife and I are staying here in Sept. before cruise. $99 per night includes airport trans and Breakfast (Sausage and Eggs). I believe this is located in the westdhore area not far from the Airport.

Cracker Ken is the resident Tampa expert. The new Embassy Suites will most likely be just like every other Embassy Suites in the country. That's what makes them Embassy Suites. The location is adjacent to the Convention Center and the Ice Palace. Channelside and the cruise piers are just a couple of blocks.

We are Hilton members - thus this is why we are looking into this new Embassy Suites. We stayed at their other one in Tampa - is was all right.

 

Some we have stayed at in other cities having really been great.

There is a nice Hilton Hotel on Clearwater Beach about 30 minutes west. Great sunsets!

Any suggestions on these two hotels? I am trying to make a decision on these two hotels.

Holiday Inn Express (Rocky Point) - breakfast, shuttle to port & airport, shuttle to malls - not much within walking distance $218.00 (2 nights)

Doubletree Westshore - breafast, shuttle to port & airport, less than mile to malls $258.00 (2 nights)

Doubletree Westshore - no breakfast, shuttle to port & aiport, less than mile to malls. $218.00 (2 nights)

 

Not much difference. I don't know about the breakfast at the Doubletree because they say it's continental. It may be better to go elsewhere and get something hot. Does anyone know what the breakfast consist of?
