sorry - i posted this under the AMerican Airline thread also.

Continental is waiving charge for 3rd piece of checked luggage. The restriction is that it will follow carry on size and weight restrictions. To view information go to web site and click on box "Travel Notice-Elevated Security".

You can still bring on your personal carry on pieces.
