Early flight & not putting luggage out night before

Has anybody not put their luggage out the night before and just carried it off themselves? We are in a CC room and have a fairly early flight.

I don't see how that would save time. You will have to wait in a lounge for your color to be called and it would be a pain to have all the bags to lug around on the ship. These days it is much easier to find your bags in the terminal and they will call you early enough to make your flight.

If you are going to a foreign port and have to clear customs, this can also result in your having to go to secondary inspection. Normally they have the drug sniffing dogs do their thing with all the checked luggage before disembarkation, so if you bring big bags off with you you are likely to get diverted to this area before being allowed out of the customs area.
