Time in St thomas

I was told that until Daylight Savings time, which is late October (I think the 31st), Caribbean time is the same as Eastern time in the U.S. Maybe someone can confirm that?

This is correct. The island does not do DST so they are at the same time as EDT but an hour ahead when it goes to EST so an August trip from the East Coast will not have a time change at St. Thomas.

Hope this helps.

So if I'm getting this right, then even though the Virgin Islands do not observe Daylight Savings, they are always at the same time as Eastern Savings Time. So when Eastern time goes to Eastern Standard Time, the times are no longer the same. It is only when here on the east coast we are observing Daylight Savings that our time coincides with Virgin Islands time?
