Windsurf - what is between Cabins 240 and 242?

Just wondering if anyone has been on the Windsurf lately and if you can advise what's between Cabin 240 and 242. On the deck plan they are next to each other but with a space inbetween. Is this a linen closet or something? Thanks for your help in advance!

This is not an answer to your question, but it reminds me of our experience in cabin 217. It is right next to the gangplank or tender docking entry. "Not so bad," you say, "Nice and close to get to shore."

Well, what happened late in the evening is that when the docking gear is stowed the noice is terrible. The last thing that is done is to tumble the heavy floor plate against the wall right next to cabin 217. When this happened at 1:00 am it was not too pleasant!

There probably is another cabin on the port side with the same situation since they don't always use the same side for the tender.

Often, it is just an anomaly on the ship map. It really isn't a space between the staterooms, but happened during the graphic design process of the ship's maps. It could also be a hall closet used by the room stewards to store fresh linens and towels. If it was an actual space, it will often have an icon that can be found in the key on the side of the map with the icons for handicapped accessible, porthole instead of picture window notes. Also, public rooms, laundry rooms, hallways will be labeled. Actually, I would be more worried about being close to a staircase or elevator because people tend to gather in those areas. By the way, check on the decks below and above to see if there is a gangplank or noisy public room, such as a bar or a restaurant (movement for breakfast at 3 a.m. can be loud).

Best Regards,

Julia

Actually, there IS a space there. That space is about a foot thick and the deck is uneven at that point. i believe this is where watertight doors are stowed. At any rate, it meant we didn't have neighbors on that side of the bulkhead.

There was a complete thread about the 241 and 242 cabins a couple of years back saying they were noisey because of an ice machine in that thick wall. Whoey. The ice machine is midship between these two cabins and is also not a problem. We found this to be a wonderful location.
