dsnygrl Posted August 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2006 I have posted this question on the Destiny past, present and future forum but have not gotten a response so I thought I would try this. I have read on the San Juan boards that some ships have a program where you can check your luggage with certain airlines either on the boat of at the dock for a fee. There was nothing specific that said if the Destiny was one of these boats. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is available with the Destiny and American airlines. If it is, do you sign up on the boat or on the dock? There were also posts that said the fee was $20.00 per person and some that said it was $10.00 per person. What is the correct price and is it per person or per bag? Also is it also available for all flights or just certain times?
crazidude1400 Posted August 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2006 I don't remember anything with that when I sailed the Destiny. Do you have a flight through Carnival? If so, try calling them up and ask your question.
klfrodo Posted August 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2006 Didn't hear or see of such a thing when I was on the Destiny last month.
dmfriedman Posted August 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2006 The only cruise lines that participate in American Airlines' Aadvance Bag Check service are RCCL, Celebrity, and NCL. As Carnival doesn't participate, you're not able to check your bags from the Destiny onto AA flights. It's definitely a great service, and I hope that at some point in the future Carnival and AA work something out so they can participate...
