LARGIN Posted August 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2006 This has been dicussed many times and should be in the Floataway like others of this type, however to answer you before this post gets moved, the most unique thing I bring on a cruise is my wife.. :D
UTAH Posted August 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2006 My wife and I bring along a moderate-sized First Aid kit. So far, either us or our friends we meet on board have needed it at some point during every cruise. Bill

NZYU Posted August 28, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Extension cord to recharge cameras, laptops, and such. Extremely handy and needed if you travel with either of these. Outlet in cabin is close to counter and hard to get some plugs into it.
NZYU Posted August 28, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Every so often I smuggle a 150 pound German shepherd aboard :D but don't tell anyone. Also three bears and a hamster. but never at the same time as the GSD. He eats the other four. :o

beachpeach1 Posted August 28, 2006 #9 Share Posted August 28, 2006 I take a small over-the-showerhead-shelf to put my shampoo, razor, etc on since the showers are small in the cabin. They are cheap enough that I usually leave it there, giving me a little bit more room in my suitcase for souvenirs!
arlenemilt Posted August 28, 2006 #10 Share Posted August 28, 2006 My coffee pot. Never go on a cruise w/o it. Also a king size comforter for long cruises, which we donate to anyone on the staff who wants it. Gives us a lot of xtra space in a suitcase for the impulse stuff that we always manage to accumulate. barbarah33 Posted August 28, 2006 #14 Share Posted August 28, 2006 My friends! We all originally met on cruises and now we cruise every year together! It’s fun to meet new people but knowing that you are bringing your own group guarantees a perfect cruise. I also always pack an umbrella. Just a little fold-up deal but I always bring it and I never need it. Maybe it’s wards off the rain and clouds. :D
NZYU Posted August 28, 2006 #15 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Oh, no, the GSD was reading over my shoulder and now he wants to go on the same cruise you're on so he can sample some of your crok. He loves aligator tails. Do they taste the same? :D
NZYU Posted August 28, 2006 #16 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Also remember, disposable rain parkas from the Dollar Store or Walmart... Use them in case of rain or as bibs when you have your crok feast.

secretcastle Posted August 28, 2006 #18 Share Posted August 28, 2006 My choir! On our Panama cruise next spring we will have enough members for four part harmony, though I can't imagine we will actaully do any singing apart from happy Birthday for DH!:D Julia
KC Jays Posted August 28, 2006 #19 Share Posted August 28, 2006 We always bring our GPS and a power strip to have a lot of plug-ins for our many electronics. Also...someone previously mentioned the fold-up mesh laundry basket. We read about using one of these prior to our last cruise and it's just the best for 10+ day cruises where at least 1 trip to the ship laundromat is needed. Toto2Kansas Posted August 28, 2006 #20 Share Posted August 28, 2006 We always pack our two little battery operated candles. Nice little romantic decoration and they have also been used on a couple of ships during power failures onboard!
krystall Posted August 28, 2006 #21 Share Posted August 28, 2006 We always travel with our 1 liter lightweight thermal (like the ones campers and hikers use) water bottle to take on excursions. Also we always bring our very bright blue 44oz thermal mug to use all over the ship except for dinners. We always get comments like "boy, that was a great idea". Clothespins to hang up clothing you washed in the shower. Footies (ankle socks) for walking on the floors. Small first aid kit (band aids, tylenol, pepto bismal, immodium, bonide, gas x, etc). Extra zip loc bags for personals that need laundering. Bring your own soap if you have a favorite brand. ;)

Solo Cruiser Posted August 28, 2006 #25 Share Posted August 28, 2006 I bring a bag with me but don't use them for laundry. They are great for weighting down the shower curtain so it doesn't blow all around or "cling" to you while showering.
