Balcony partitions opened?

Yes, we always ask our cabin steward to open the verandah partition as soon as we board. Sometime that first day, he will bring the key required and take care of it. Once it is opened, it will remain open for the entire cruise. It is nice when you are traveling in two adjoining cabins.

We did this for our Westerdam cruise in Alaska a couple weeks ago and it was great to have the shared extra space. So you are not surprised, please note that the it is a door that opens, not the full partion. Enjoy your trip and "extra" room.
