robseat Posted September 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2006 We are planning (if not already too late) to cruise to Alaska late next summer ('07). Will probably go Princess which we did before and were very happy with. Has anyone ever done the land tour to the Copper River area, and stayed in the Princess Lodge there? We aren't sure what, if anything, we could do there (excursion-wise). About 5 years ago we did the land tour that went to Talkeetna, Denali, and Fairbanks. In Talkeetna, we were able to book a raft trip (gentle float), and in the other places there were wheelchair-accessible busses for getting around. Anyway, we were looking for a slightly different itinerary this time, so were thinking of the Copper River option. I should mention that DH is a quad, totally dependent on wheelchair. We have the direct phone # for the lodge so will give them a call to inquire about roll-in showers, etc. Maybe they can help us get in touch with some of the outfitters.
