Starbright Posted September 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2006 This is shown in the itinerary for our upcoming Zuiderdam cruise. What does it mean? Is it just another sea day, or is there actually something to see?
CoconutFish Posted September 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2006 Gulfo Dulce is a beautiful gulf in southern Costa Rica. We have been three times and the route through was different each time. You will not sail closely enough to shore to see much besides birds. Take your binoculars up to the Sky deck and take a look at the forest and shore. The greenery is gorgeous. From the Lower Promenade deck look over the side and watch for turtles floating by or possibly a few dolphins. It is a bit different than a regular sea day in that there is a very calm feeling to the place, with the ship making its slow way around the gulf. A lazy day to really look at the scenery. If your itinerary takes you there around lunchtime, try to get a window table in the Lido or Dining Room and enjoy.
wwinfl91 Posted September 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2006 We have only done it once but I considered it more like another slow sea day. The shoreline was too far away to see anything unless you had good binoculars and even then I'm not sure how much you would have seen. IMHO. Have a great next cruise.
