Rental Cars in St. Lucia

Has anyone had any recent experience (good or bad) in renting a car on St. Lucia? There are a few posts on this board from late 2004, early 2005 which indicate that National has an office right on the pier. The official web site for the gov't tourist dept. doesn't list National as being anywhere on the island. The local Hertz franchisee won't rent to anyone over age 60. I'm 66. I may have to deal with an independant firm. Does anyone know of a good one? Thanks.
