jcrandle Posted September 13, 2006 #26 Share Posted September 13, 2006 We booked on board on our last cruise, the 8/9 Baltic on the Rotterdam. We had already gotten prices and cabin quotes from our TA (online) and had decided to book the spring TransAtlantic on the Veendam, followed by a 10 day Med cruise on the same ship. HAL quoted us a price, which we ignored, and asked that the booking be with our current TA. While still on the Baltic cruise, we got the confirmation from our TA, showing prices of $600 and $800 per cabin less than HAL quoted. Additionally, we received on board credits of $100 and $50 per cabin. I agree that the on board credits are minimal, but they more than paid for making the deposits a month or so earlier than we would anyway. I'd say research the cruises and prices that you would be interested in, and book on board to reduce the bar bill by a bit. My opinion only. DH88 Posted February 17, 2007 #27 Share Posted February 17, 2007 Is the deposit always less when booking on-board?
