LHP Posted September 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2006 I was just wondering what the cheapest you ever payed pp for a Carnival cruise? I had to stop and think what the heck "pp" was...and then the light came on...Per Person!! Our answer is $47.62 for a 7 day in October. gescn Posted September 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2006 We leave in 13 days on the Ecstasy...$53.80 per person in an oceanview. If you factor in my daughter's (3rd person=less expensive) fare, it comes to $47.80. Just keep watching for price reductions--we booked at $379 and now have a $200+ OBC! lovncruzn Posted September 11, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted September 11, 2006 I don't understand how you can get that much obc with that low of a starting rate?
cruisevers Posted September 11, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Are these all, per person per night (pppn) or per person total (pp)??? I am guessing pppn???

I don't get it either - they did not say how they got the credit, or what it was for. I am skeptical.
Queenie24now Posted September 11, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 11, 2006 I just need to read and study more if I want to have LHP's and the others good fortune. Keep crusin' and keep learning !! LHP Posted September 11, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 11, 2006 I don't get it either - they did not say how they got the credit, or what it was for. I am skeptical. Perhaps they had a cruise cancelled when they needed the ships for Katrina. We got a $200.00 OBC for that one time and that was after our "best deal". LHP Posted September 11, 2006 #11 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Wow! How did you do that? That was back when we were able to get Interline Discounts (for airline and air freight carriers). Carnival no longer offers that to cargo carriers. However, RCCL and Celebrity still does.
St.Love Posted September 11, 2006 #12 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Our cruise in a few weeks we paid 179.00 pp. There are 6 of us. That is a military rate. Plus I get an OBC today but not sure hoe much?
crucero Posted September 11, 2006 #13 Share Posted September 11, 2006 DH & I cruised last year for free on the Conquest. Wait, take that back, we paid $200 to get a balcony, but that was all we paid. I got my cruise as an incentive from my company (sales). ;)
lovncruzn Posted September 11, 2006 Author #14 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Awesome! We are paying $249/pp for our upcoming Holiday and last night I saw Ecstasy for $199/pp for next Monday.

Cotton Posted September 11, 2006 #16 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Our answer is $47.62 for a 7 day in October. (inside cabin on the Upper Deck) LHP - That would tend to confuse newbies.;) That is obviously $47.62 per person, per night. So, to answer her question, it would be $333.34 per person for the 7 night cruise, right?

So, to answer her question, it would be $333.34 per person for the 7 night cruise, right? I don't think it's per night... from the above it sounds like they used an OBC to get that rate... Cotton Posted September 11, 2006 #18 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Well, geez - I guess I need to book my cruises with LHP! If I could cruise for $6.80 a day, I'd go once a month!
lovncruzn Posted September 11, 2006 Author #19 Share Posted September 11, 2006 I just got obc for $50/pp. If you look at it that way it drops our price to $199/pp for 5 night Holiday. Woohoo!!!!:) :D

emtntn Posted September 11, 2006 #21 Share Posted September 11, 2006 I am cruising Sept 21st and I noticed that the price has dropped from what I paid. Is it too late for me to get the price changed?
cruisevers Posted September 11, 2006 #22 Share Posted September 11, 2006 I would call your TA or PVP right away as it could change. They probably would give you an onboard credit or upgrade but not a refund.

Check with your booking agent. Many times when you see a special rate, it is for new bookings only. However, it never hurts to check it out. Normally, if you are eligible for a lesser rate, it's credited to your final payment IF before final payment...and after final payment has been made (in your case), you might get OBC. I got OBC three days before sailing on one cruise. Call now.:)
