Private Tours Mediterranean Negatives

We have always had great experiences using private tours. I have read countless posting here with glowing reviews. What I would like to hear are the small negatives, especially for Rome, Naples (Pompeii and Amalfi coast) and Turkey (Ephesus and Istanbul).

What things would you change now that you have gone on your tour? What are some places you would have added or deleted from your tour? Any suggestions for making the tours better? What did you like and dislike about your tours?

We absolutely LOVED our Ephesus tour. The only thing we would have done differently would be to skip the Artemis Temple. There's basically nothing left of it except a pillar! But seeing Ephesus, and then heading back to Kusadasi, having a drink with our guide on Pigeon Island and walking through the Kusadasi bazaar was amazing!

We used private drivers EVERYWHERE and had AMAZING days. We saw and experienced much more than those that did the ship's tours. Mostly we left the itinerary up to the driver (after all who knows the area better than them?). Ephesus was a highlight ... Temple of Artemis (:rolleyes:) not much!

 

Changed ... deleted ... added? Can't really say much here. All of our days were wonderful and filled to the brim. Sure we didn't see everything ... but you just can't do it all in a few hours in port!
