Santos?

DH and I are booked for the 12-22-06 SA/Antarctica cruise aboard the ms Rotterdam. We have alreday booked several shore excursions but every time I go to HAL website and look up Santos I get a message saying no excursions available, please keep checking! We are to be in port for 10 hours. I do keep checking but nothing ever shows. Any reason why this is? Thanks to all....Marian

There's not much to see in Santos.

 

We're generally independant travelers but were told that Santos isn't the safest of places, so we opted for the ship's excursion. They took us to the coffee exhange (very interesting but only about an hour) and to the soccer museum, where I learned more about Pele than I ever needed or wanted to know. <snore>

 

IMO, a good excursion would be to the coffee exchange and then a drive to someplace else nearby. Maybe HAL will come up with one or maybe you should look into a private guide.
