Another ship trip Posted September 24, 2006 #51 Share Posted September 24, 2006 because it was my honeymoon and I had no others by which to compare it. I have been on many others which are by far superior to that cruise so it actuality, I have been on many cruises which were better but the honeymoon was my introduction to cruising over 20 years ago and will of course always hold a special place in my heart. Tina G Posted September 25, 2006 #52 Share Posted September 25, 2006 OP, have you two settled on your cruise yet? I'm dying of curiosity!;)
rebeccalouise Posted September 25, 2006 #53 Share Posted September 25, 2006 No, my first cruise was on the Holland America Veendam in 1975 and it was fun but not my favorite. Probably the best cruise experience was the Millenium Transatlantic voyage. A Transatlantic voyage is really the most exciting of all cruising experiences in my view. HomeLover Posted September 25, 2006 #54 Share Posted September 25, 2006 Yes, my first cruise will always be my favorite! It was 1984 on the Home Lines Atlantic. The cabin was huge (for the era) the Italian crew very attentive, food superb, and a wonderfully outfitted ship. It was the time when cruising was 'special' and every passenger on the ship was treated as if they were royalty. Yes, I have had more interesting itineraries, larger cabins, and more glitz, but through my 14 cruises, (even 4 "luxury" lines) nothing will compare with the style and ambiance of Home Lines.
