how can u tell if your cruise has had a price drop after you've paid in full if you have booked thru the cruise line. should i trust my contact there to be honest if i ask? this is carnival's miracle's nov 5 cruise date.

There are a couple of ways that you can check... one is like you mentioned, check with who you booked through, but a quicker way is to use the cruise line's website or any of the major online booking agents.

if you are inside the cruiselines window for final payment you may not be entitled to get the lower price---depends on the cruiseline and its policy

Carnivals PVP's are usually really good at getting you a price drop, upgrade or onboard credit if the price goes down, like the above poster states, just go to the Carnival online sites and watch the prices, I usually call my TA every once in a while and have him check for me.

Does a TA care if you ask about price drops? Does it affect how they are paid? I want to ask my TA, but she is also a family friend, so I don't want to offend her. I noticed there is a price drop on our cruise of $50 pp.

What if you are cruising with a group at a supposed group rate? Would a group be eligible for a discount?

Usually groups are not eligible for the price drops, as they are already booked at a discounted rate and are receiving amenities. You would have to give up the group amenities, and change your booking. If its after final payment, that involves penalties.

Oh, I think we are at a group rate. Oh well. What are these group amenities? I haven't heard of anything yet from our TA?
