shots for Costa Rica?

is malaria medication necessary for the windstar excursions? what about innoculations? anybody have information on the best excursions? really excited about our 2nd windstar cruise.

We went to a local travel clinic before our Windstar cruise last year.

 

The nurse there had the latest information on all of our ports of call, which included the Panama Canal and some ports on the Atlantic side of Costa Rica.

 

I think though, that the Nicaragua stop was one of the ones which kicked out several vaccinations. We got several shots-can't remember now which ones, and one of the two malarial medications.

 

Of course, things could have changed since then.

 

There are several reviews on this site with information on shore excursions on your cruise. We particularly enjoyed our ATV trip in Quepos.

We were on the Windstar in Feb. this year,we took no shots of any kind. I enjoyed the all day trip to Nicaragua and the volcano. Have a nice trip.

Will be sailing on WindStar this February. Previously have been to Costa Rica 3 times, though. Never needed shots:)

As I remember, we never needed shots for Central America. The shots I would recommend, though, are tequila!!
