Difference in First class/Business Delta?

I think Delta, as with many other U.S carriers has changed to a 2-class structure. Domestic flight classes are usually called Economy and First Class. International flights are called Economy and some cute, meaningless name (BusinessFirst, BusinessElite, or some such).

What does matter is where you are flying with Delta as that will impact the service up in the front of the plane.

If you're flying domestic, all first class gets you is basically a larger seat, an open bar, & a meal.

If you're flying internationally, it's a whole other game. The seat is typially more spacious (55" pitch vs. 38" domestically), reclines mores, has in-seat entertainment, has a power port (for computers/Ipods, etc.), more elaborate meal service & enhanced drink choices, and airport club access.

We flew BCN-JFK then JFK-LAX on Delta's Business Elite a couple of years ago. Although the cabin configuration was the same (same seats) and the food, other than being a different meal was very similar, the difference in service was night and day. From BCN it was frequent, smiling and very pleasant. From JFK it ranged from surly to indifferent.
