claudie Posted October 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2006 I found this helpful site regarding college spring breaks for 2007. It's great for those who are looking to book a cruise hoping to avoid mass crowds of college kids. (I'm a parent of college soph so I don't mean to offend anyone). http://www.tripsmarter.com/panamacity/springbreak/sbcalendar2.htm
KAWS Posted October 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2006 OMG and just guess what week we're booked for? Yep - sailing March 11 on the Miracle. Well at least I know now why that ship is filling up so fast! Kim
mom2eli Posted October 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2006 We accidentally cruised spring break last year. When I got on the ship I felt old (though I am only in my late 20's) and was worried that the trip would be ruined by a party crowd. This was not at all the case. In fact the pool area was totally deserted until about 2:00 (they had probably been up all night partying). Excursions were not at all crowded, and the dining room, shows and casinos were pretty uncrowded also. I guess the bars might have been reallt crowded (they had to be somewhere right???) flag fan Posted October 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Great post!!! Thanks claudie! I am sailing in Hawaii in late April and was wondering if I would hit spring break--no problem; but in 2008, I have a cruise in March--uh-oh; at least now I know what I'm getting into. Very helpful information.
Rare silentbob007 Posted October 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2006 I want to cruise during spring break ... but don't want to pay the rates that are being charged to get to Florida ... :( ;)
dforeigner Posted October 9, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 9, 2006 I appreciate the WEB link. Looks like I may miss most of the Spring Break crowd by sailing April 14, '07.
Las Vegas Non Rev Posted October 9, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 9, 2006 We are 30 and 40 and we took the inspiration in March 06. We were two of six people not in collage on this cruise. We had a great time. Hard for the kids to keep up with me at the bar. LOL They did a lot of drinking but were well behaved. No fights, no one passed out drunk in the stairways. Watching the sunrise and hanging out by the pool was great. The deck was deserted till noon.
claudie Posted October 9, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Those are good points about the breakers sleeping all day which makes ship life quiet during the day. Honestly I think I would rather be on a ship with those college kids than during elementary school breaks (please don't bother attacking, I'm a parent, too:D).
