Can anyone tell me how the forward VA cabins on the Navagation deck onboard Zuiderdam are?

Can you hear any noise from the gym above?

We have normally been midship so being at the front is their a lot of movement? (Hubby is prone to being nauseated)

Thanks...Missygirl:)

I paid a premium for a front Balcony on the Tahitan Princess . So far Ive learned the band practices constantly below(hope they are getting good by April) And that they are very windy while under weigh(moving) Great while moored if the public cant stand in front ,which is possible on some ships balconies facing forward.!

We had a forward balcony on the Westerdam last year, in fact we were only 4 doors from the bridge. It was very quiet, no noise at all from the spa or gym, and very convenient to the lido. My husband loved that the closest elevator to our oom took him directly to the casino:rolleyes: .

We sailed on the Zuiderdam twice, both times on deck 6 where the lifeboarts jut out with the tops even with the floor of the balconies. The first time was no problem at all, the second time, during Hurricane Rita, the people above us heaved over their raling and nailed the top of the lifeboat almost daily. Now, come on....was the other passenger using the toilet at the very same time. I have also noticed this design flaw on the new Crown Princess....however, it is the balconies that jut out on what I think are decks 6 through 8. Just make sure you are not on one of those and you should be ok. The best balconies on the Zuiderdam appear to be off the very back of the ship, though. You don't get blown over by the wind and they are very expansive. Again, people are able to look down onto your balcony but are less likely to be heaving over the side as the pool deck is above these rooms. We've booked a room near the bridge on the Dawn Princess and it was lovely, but had a lot of movement in the rough waters....I mean a lot. We did the same on the Crown and it was oh so noisy being under a public deck!! I now know to investigate all surrounding areas before chosing my room.

We had 8010 on the Westerdam on the Baltic. Never heard any noise from the gym above, and only felt a little motion on the first night out. I think that mainly depends on your luck with sea/wind conditions. Or maybe we got used to it quickly.

DW and I liked the fact that it was a dead end and got no non-resident traffic except for ocassional bridge people, and I liked the fact that it was a short walk to the Lido pool area where I could use my laptop.

we were in 8025 on the Zuiderdam and loved it--very quiet and no noise from above. We were then in 8059 on the Westerdam and experienced quite a bit of noise from the Lido pool area. Beginning very early in the morning until evening we could hear chairs scraping and being dragged around. I would never book the area under the lido pool again.
