Been on Triumph twice (last time was last month) . . . had a great time. Aside from being a tad hard to get around on (aside from decks with nothing but cabins . . . only two decks go all the way from one end to the other) . . . the Triumph is a beautiful ship and the crew (at least on my cruises) were fantastic!

Right by the pursers desk if you go out the doors there it is a very quiet deck outside to walk and you can sit out there. When I was on the ship there might have been 4 people on that deck outside. Not to many can find it.

Our first and only cruise was on the Triumph in May. It was fantastic. We had a balcony cabin 8315 and loved every minute of it. The food was very good and service was great.

The shows were entertaining, not impressed with the comedians but that's really not my thing anyway. The dancing was pretty good in the shows but outshadowed by the musical numbers. Having a daughter that dances makes my more critical because I have spent so many years critiqueing dancers.

We had such a great time that we were tempted to book on the Triumph again for our cruise next summer but decided to try another ship but wouldn't have been sad to go on the Triumph again!

My wife and I are going on the Triumph for the second time next April! If you still have time, check out the layout of this ship ahead of time, being there are hardly any decks that go in a straight line from one end to the other. I know you will have a great time.:)

I have been on the Triumph for two cruises, had a great time on each voyage. Great food, very good service, good entertainment, great casino.

Below deck five you cannot walk the length of the ship though. You will have to go up and around then back down. That's the way the ship is designed. On the Spirit class ships you could go from front to back on every deck.

Spirit Class, one main dining room far aft, connecting galley. Destiny Class, two main dining rooms separated by the galley that serves both. The galley is the obstacle when attempting to navigate the ship from end to end on the Triumph; that obstacle isn't there on the Spirit Class.

We were on the ship last week. We like the ship but as one CC member said

it can be hard to get around at first. Getting to the Dinning rooms was a bear.

They are on the 3rd and 4th floors. But if you on Paris at the Aft of the ship.

It was best to goto the back stairs on floor 2 or 5 then go up/down to th door.

There were lots of decks on different floors that you never saw anyone out

there. So it was very nice and quite.

The stops were nice, etc. But San Juan IMHO was a waste. We got there

at 5PM off the ship aorund 5:45. Then it was dark by 6:45 or 7pm. There

was not alot to really do unless you were drinking animals or gamblers.

But St Martin was great. We love to go back to the island and see it again. The water and beaches were very very nice.

We did not like the cruise director at all. Paul stantley I think was his last

name. He got on your nerves really easy. It was appearent if you been on

CCL before all his jokes were obtain from other cruise directors. It was like

a rerun of all the other cruises.

But we had a fun time and enjoy the cruise.

We went on the Triumph In May and had a great time. You will love the Triumph. If Stuart is the CD, ask him for some Vegimite. Say hi to Santana and Bonnie, the assistant Cruise Directors. They are fantastic. Enjoy the Caribbean.

See Dalia the bartender at the California Wine club. Tell her that you've heard that she makes a great martini!

You'll be in for a long night. :D

As far as CD Paul Stantley......we loved him. Matter of opinion I suppose. So far, our best CD.

My brain is on overload about now! Thanks so much and we all welcome any other tips and comments. Will be leaving Thursday around noon and thanks to all! Grandparents "chaperoning" 16 year old at home. I think that is my main worry, but must believe all will be fine. He is good kid, but still a male teen! :)

My count down clock is at 185 days, better than 200 plus days i guess...

DW and I are on deck 6...8A balcony aft. We got one of the cabins that have a longer balcony. Celibrating the big 25 . Thoughts on flowers in the cabin, and cabin decorations.

Eastern voyage: Have you been  San Juan, St Thomas, St Martin...

what to do...San Juan, we dock in the late afternoon, 4-5 PM, what can you do at that time of day. Dinner is at 615PM. Carnival has excursions and we like to walk, so the old San Juan excursion at sunset sounds nice. Does anyone know if this is worth it. Our arrival time seems to inhibit us from exploring some of the nicer spots, but Carnnival does have a full page of excursions to choose from if we wanted to do more.

St Thomas: Carnival has but one excursion while in St Thomas...a 5 hour deep sea fishing tour. What to do while we are there. We like the beach, and swim, is there somewhere nice to do that?

St Martin: Many excursions to choose from. Our first thought was to rent a jeep, but re-thinking that based on some fun looking excursions Carnival has to offer.

SORRY for being long winded  , any thoughts would be helpful

We are going on 11/25/06. I just got my cabin assignments yesterday. 1345 and 1341 on the Riviara Deck. Does anyone know which dinning room we will be assigned to? We are close to the elevator, will there be much noise?

Thanks to all posters:)

Robin: Enjoy your cruise, we are on the Triumph in Jan (there are a bunch of us on the boards) and would really appreciate an honest review when you get back.

Are you Eastern or Western??

Have a great time ;)

We are leaving on the 11/4 eastern sailing and can't wait also. It been awhile since we have been on Carnival, the last several on RCCL. So it adds to the excitement to being back on Carnival. Have fun on your trip.

Hi Everybody!

We are heading out today and checking e-mail ONE LAST TIME!. We are doing Eastern and will be glad to report upon return.

Subject to change is doing nothing much in San Juan but walk around and eat and drink close by, St Thomas is Coki Beach, Coral World and explore shops a bit, St. Martin will be a taxi tour and just looking around some. That is the plan right now, but who knows??

Have a great week to all next week whether you're cruising or not. :)
