Ireland suggestions

Recommended Posts

We will be stopping at Cook. Dublin and Belfast in September. Know nothing about these cities at the present. Any suggestions of sights to see or not to see etc

I am assuming you mean Cork.If so you should have quite a few options. You can visit Blarney Castle, and the shops on the grounds are great, as well as the Irish Coffee they serve there..super!! You can walk around Cork itself or take a tour out into the countryside. In Dublin..once you get in from the port do the hop/on hop/off bus tour as you will see all the sights, and a lot of them are in walking distance of one another as well as ther main shopping street which is Grafton Street.Dublin is a wonderful to explore, and please have a Guinness for me.I can't help you with Belfast, sorry, but someone on the board I am sure will do that.Enjoy your cruise.;)

Cork: I would suggest going to Kinsale, a small, quaint, clean, picturesque fishing village. Blarney Castle is nice, mainly for the pretty grounds and views from the top. Blarney Wollen Mills is also there and this is a shopper's paradise, probably the best in Ireland for a tourist. A drive through the countryside is also very nice. You can do all three of these things in one day through a private tour or a ship's tour.

Belfast: I'd suggest leaving the city and taking a tour to the Antrim Coast where you can see the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, Dunluce Castle, and take a scenic ride along the beautiful coast of Northern Ireland. This is best done through a private tour, but most cruise lines offer a similar tour.

Ireland is a beautiful country and full of charming, friendly people. Enjoy!
