Viking-What to do once arriving?

We are taking the Grand European Tour on Viking. Have a question.....we will arrive at 7am in Amsterdam. What happens after that? Do we have access to our luggage? When can we board the boat? Hoping that we can at least get settled, refreshed, etc since having to fly overnight to get to our destination.

We left the ship in Amsterdam yesterday morning about 10:00 am and people had already started to arrive with their luggage as early as 8:00 am. They sat in the lounge. Rooms will not be ready until mid afternoon.

We had arrived in Amsterdam for our Viking cruise, a day before embarkation. On the morning of embarkation day, we took a taxi from our hotel to the pier where the river boats were, dropped our bags off at the Viking Sky, and then hoofed it over to Central Station for a day trip Delft. So, yes, you can drop you luggage off at the ship and then go sight-see around Amsterdam.
