Hotel Recommendations near Port in Puerto Rico

We are looking for a hotel in Old San Juan near the port (Destiny). The Sheraton gets great reviews but is very expensive. I have a reservation for the Ihp Hotel El Consulado but would like something closer to Old San Juan if possible. Any suggestions of hotels around $150?

Unfortunatly you are going to a city known for its hotel being expensive AND YOU ARE GOING IN THE VERY PEAK OF HIGH SEASON..... good luck finding something in the 150.00 range in old San Juan. We paid 284.00 + taxes per night (x2 nights) for El Convento and it was worth every penny to me :D

Have you stayed at the Hotel Milano? How is the bus transportation? If it is good we can keep the Ihp Hotel Consulado and just take a bus to Old San Juan or taxi to the port. Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Consulado?
