E91 Posted October 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2006 It has been a few years since on the Zuiderdam. We will be Suite category with priority boarding and all that nonsense. We will be staying at the Pier 66 the night before - hop/skip/jump from the port. We are driving our own car. What is the earliest we can get to the port and actually board the ship w/o sitting in the waiting area? Thanks in advance.
jtl513 Posted October 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2006 It varies port to port, but generally around 11:00a for a 5:00p sailing. Usually you can't go to your room until around 1:00p, though. :)
Candy Posted October 28, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2006 Doors open at around 11:00, and with Priority Boarding, you should be scarfing down bread pudding by 11:30. What sailing are you on? Candy the ZuiderPrincess
E91 Posted October 28, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted October 28, 2006 December 9 sailing. Cabin S4180. We sailed in S7132 in April of 2004. Looking forward to it. Doors open at around 11:00, and with Priority Boarding, you should be scarfing down bread pudding by 11:30. What sailing are you on? seaisme Posted October 30, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2006 depending on how deportation goes from the previous sailing...we've been able to board as early as 10:30. But I'd plan on 11:00. As long as you have your paperwork completed ahead of time, boarding is smooth, regardless of priority boarding (it may save you no more than 5 minutes max). We love staying at Pier 66 (after the cruise) and watching the cruise ships leave port. It's a nice way to end the cruise...seeing others on the same ship just beginning their week of Heaven! Thanx for the laugh! BTW, unless we get there when the doors open, Priority Boarding usually saves us about 30-45 mminutes.
