Beach Bound Posted October 29, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2006 We are sailing on the Miracle. This is my 17 year old son and my first cruize. I am trying to budjet our trip, how much is Bingo? We don't drink or gamble and are going on 3 shore excersions and some shopping. We like bingo and I think it would be a fun activity to do together. Anyone had much luck winning? Is it fun? What times and where do they play? Thanks:) Adrienne

Isn't bingo considered gambling as the jackpots are cash, therefore under the same age restiction as the casino?
joepeka Posted October 29, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2006 Our teen DD's (back when they were teens) have purchased bingo cards on all our cruises so I don't think age is a problem unless the staff selling the cards weren't paying attention. Usually, the cards are $10 for a single card or $20 for a three card sheet. There are also special games with special prices which are announced prior to the game starting.
lookingforward Posted October 30, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2006 Kids can play bingo as long as they are with a parent or guardian. My kids love to play and have actually won money on previous cruises. On the Voyager (RCCL) the jackpot was 8,700 the final day. One lucky man won it and did not even crack a smile. It was obvious that it was not a big deal for him. Does Carnival give away a free cruise at bingo like NCL??
pam512 Posted October 30, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 30, 2006 It's interesting how everybody things $20 is expensive for three cards. I was on one of Royal Caribbean's ships last month and it cost $35. Ouch. It took me longer to lose $35 in the casino than it did playing bingo. $20 sounds pretty cheap compared to that. And kids were playing on that ship too. I guess it's not really considered gambling, so if you're comfortable with your kids playing, go ahead and spend the money. And enjoy your cruise. Bingo is a small part of what you are going to enjoy!

TennisLover Posted October 30, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 30, 2006 If I remember correctly, they did give away a free cruise during BINGO on the Liberty earlier this year.
