Karaoke on the Zuiderdam??

It seems that I read last night someone mentioning that there was karaoke on the Zuiderdam!! Could that be true?? For my up coming cruise that would be the cherry on the banana split!!

Chef Nancy, when we sailed on the Zuiderdam in June there was Karaoke several nights (if not every night..I don't remember). We really enjoyed it on the Carnival Inspiration and was afraid HAL would be too "formal" to include it but we were pleasantly surprised. It was held in the Queen's Lounge. The best singers on our cruise were a 14(?) year old boy who did a fantastic Frank Sinatra (you should have seen the 60+ ladies scream, stand & wave their hands!) and a Chief of Police from Florida who did a great Tom Jones (swinging hips & all). Have a great time!!

Thanks for your reply!! After I booked our cruise and started reading about how people go to bed so early and how the ship is dead after 10:00 I was a bit worried!! However now that I've heard that there is karaoke I am quite excited about nightlife on the Zuiderdam. Now I won't lose my shirt (scary thought) in the casino!! Thanks again.

I'm glad to hear that, too! Although we don't participate we always enjoy going - it's fun.

Hey Chef Nancy, looks like I know where we'll be hanging out in the evenings! I always like listening to karaoke & I have a decent voice but I'm a chicken. Maybe on the cruise I can get the courage (or liquid courage) up to sing finally.:rolleyes:

Chili.........Sounds good to me!! I have made friends with another cruiser via this website (she's a scream!!) So let's get together and "howl" a little bit!! We are all on the same deck so it should be easy enough to pick a night or two and get together!! We are in cabin 5071. And as I said "clues" to finding us on the Lido deck will up and coming!! On my Apr. 17/04 cruise on the Zuiderdam there were at least two nights of Karaoke, they proved so popular there was standing room only at the end. Also, the piano bar stayed open until about 1 am most evenings.

Just another cost-cutting measure, I guess. Why hire professional singers when pax will, for free, entertain each other! Hope they don't suddenly realize there's lots of ex-Navy personnel on most cruises......:rolleyes:

We're in 5106, down the hall 4 cabins aft of the elevators. I'm going to buy some chililpepper magnets for our door so you & Lisa & whoever else will know where we are.

 

I talked to Rob re the sail away party & he wants to go, seeing as this is our first cruise so I'll be trying to figure out the clues.:) And as far as the other cruiser, The More The Merrier, I always say!
