Glory disembarking - place to chill?

There are a lot of complaints about the disembarkation process.

For those who have no schedule after disembarking, is it practical, or possible, to just chill in a lounge or common area until almost everyone is out?

Or is the process such that you really do need to get in line when your group is called?

Many areas will be closed off due to customs... the lounges are used as staging areas for VIP and self assist. You can wait on the lido deck if you would like... for us, it was COLD... but better than the cabin :D

My DD and I relaxed along the Promenade deck. Disembarking was pretty orderly on this cruise. When our color was called we waited a little bit before leaving and we didn't encounter a mass of people crowding the area near the exit.

Have a GREAT cruise!!

We also wait on the promenade deck around the casino area for our

color to be called. Even then we take our time leaving. I'd rather not

leave at all.:p

This will be my first cruise, so I'm a bit clueless.

What's wrong with waiting in the cabin?

They like you to vacate the rooms fairly early in the morning so that

the room stewards can begin to get them ready for the next cruise. We

usually put our luggage out the nite before, get up in the morning, go

to the breakfast buffett around 8-8:30 then down to the promenade

deck.

Have a great cruise!!:)

Having only been on one cruise - the Triumph, I was wondering if they call the higher decks first? We were on the Verandah and will be on the Panorama on our next one. Does this matter?

We are staying in Orlando for a few "fun-filled" days post cruise and not sure if I should go ahead with some plans for Saturday that require us to be in Orlando around noon.

They did call the higher decks first. So you should be one of the first

off. Do you have the tranfers from Port Canaveral to Orlando with

Carnival? If so, you will have most of the day for other outings........

but will you have the energy!!!!:p

There really is no rhyme or reason as to which decks get called first, although generally some of the smaller upper decks do tend to get called first.

To the OP, Glory debarkation was probably the easiest I've done. The cruise terminal uses luggage carosels like airports do. Wait for a few minutes until after your color is called, exit the ship and find the right carosel for your luggage. Stand there as your luggage comes to you. :)

Since you are from Orlando, you'll probably be sitting in your back yard sipping a foo foo before noon.

Carousels sound terrific! When we got off of the Triumph in Miami and walked into that huge room with luggage stacked everywhere I just about panicked! But, luck was with us and ours was sitting right near the door all in one bunch.

We are going to rent a car at the Port and use it for a couple of days while goofing off in Orlando. Our son in law has never been there so we want to show him the sights! I just hate wasting most of a day on Saturday so want to plan something fun to do that afternoon. I think I will get a park hopper pass for Universal Studio's and that way we can go to City Walk for supper that night!
