Woven things (rugs etc) are generally good buys in Guatemala. Also I saw a beautiful hand-embroidered bedspread. Be prepared to bargain but offer a reasonable price (the people there are very poor and need ever extra penny they get). I was able to get a very nice small hand-woven rug for $15 (the starting price was $35).

They were there when we docked last week and when we pulled out. One vendor told us he would be there until 5:30. I think they make a point of being there whenever the boats are. We bought placemats, wall hangings, t-shirts. Very friendly people! Have a wonderful trip; they are beautiful people. Marti

Yes, they have some fabric purses/wallets. Also saw a few nativity scenes.

I did not think the prices were very good. Quite high starting prices. I am an experienced bargainer, and some of these folks were not dealing as I had expected from the boards. In fact, some were rude, even near the end of the day. I had better experiences in Panama and Honduras.
