Paradise Beach--Leaving stuff on the beach?

Hi, just wondered how safe it is to leave things on the beach while hanging out in the water?

FIrst off, the beach chairs are just a few feet from the waters' edge, so even when in the water, you are very close to your stuff. Second, when we were there, it was not very crowded and it was easy to see what everyone else was up to. It was all tourists- there were no "strangers" roaming around.

 

I had a video camera which I left out on a little table next to our chairs while we went swimming and didn't even think twice. Maybe this was being too un-cautious, but it felt very comfortable there and very safe.

jeff33436's answer is an accurate one! I'll just add that if you absulutely have to stash that diamond tiara you brought with you, you can ask on the bartenders to stow it in a cupboard...hasta la vista!!
