Westerdam DVD

A few weeks prior to our Oct 15 cruise I e-mailed HAL asking if our balcony room ( gave them the number) would be equipped with a DVD player, their response was YES we would have one. ( I have it in writing :) ) Well, to our surprise, no DVD player. I was very disappointed that HAL misinformed us.

Hope you have one by the time you go on board. I did hear they are upgrading the TV's as well. This would be a huge bonus as the desk area is way too small to accommodate a regular sized TV.

DVD's were only available to Suite passengers on the Hal-o-ween cruise...and as our TV died while we sailed, we were able to find out the maintenance dept. did have at least some flat screen TV's on board. Did they replace ours with one? Nope.

Ziggy told me that the Westerdam will be going into (a much needed) drydock soon...hopefully HAL will upgrade all staterooms to the flat screen/dvd TV's, as the staterooms are seriously crowded with the current ones.
