heyitsmejudy Posted November 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2006 We're on the Empress deck... Three rooms... one next to the pursers' desk (I think there is one room between our room and the desk) one down the photo gallery hall a bit and the third right by an elevator. Anyone have experience with any of these situations and can tell me what to expect? I know, a loud day on a cruise ship is better than a quiet day at the office, but I want to make sure our "upgrade" from GTY to Empress is really an "upgrade." victory2020 Posted November 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2006 I've always found the Empress deck to be the noisiest, especially if you're near the action (atrium) or below DR,casino, or show room stage. When I have a choice I go with Upper.
tkportersat Posted November 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2006 I didn't find it to be bad at all, the only problem I had is when big groups of people congregate in the halls...and that can happen on any floor.
jcriticl Posted November 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2006 What ship are you referring to? I'm not familiar with all the Carnival ships, but I'm looking at sailing on the Pride (Spirit class). Their Empress deck is sandwiched between 2 decks of cabins (Upper and Verandah), so I had expected it would be quieter than for instance, the forward section of the Upper deck, which is above the Taj Mahal. heyitsmejudy Posted November 14, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted November 14, 2006 We're on the Sensation. I can usually sleep through anything BUT if the elevators come to a slam and send off a loud noise every time the door opens or closes, 4 days of it might be a bit much!
