Kids Club on Jewel

Hi there! Been trying to decide on what ship to take this Spring Break. Last spring, our first cruise w RCCL was fabulous. Had been condsidering Carnival or Princess. Then, yesterday came across Jewel and was pretty much convinced this was the one.

However, now I have heard their Kids club is only opened evenings while in port. Is this true? Any insight on the hours or the club itself would be greatly appreciated.

I hope not! They should be open the same hours as the other NCL ships. When we were on the Sun, on sea days, the KC was open for 3-hour intervals (with breaks in between) starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. (with an option for paid care after that). We're going on the Jewel in April and are expecting the KC to be open similar hours. Maybe on sailings where there are not a lot of kids, they shorten the hours?

Sorry - I just re-read your post and realized you were asking about port days :o For that matter you are correct, the regular KC program is only open in the evenings, however, if your child is potty trained, you can sign up for paid hourly care on port days ($5-$6/hour, I think).

Kids Club on NCL ships is open while at sea and in the evenings. There are three or four hour blocks during both the morning and afternoon with about a two-three hour block where they club is closed. (for example: 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.)

The evening sessions are from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. These sessions have many age specific acitivities and my daughter has loved it.

They also offer group babysitting between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. and during those times in port. I believe it is $5 an hour. You also have to pre-register at least a day before for those times.

Children must be potty trained or else the parents are given a beeper and will be paged when changing is needed. SInce the beepers only work on board, parents of those children who are not potty trained cannot leave the kids on the ship without them.
