SeaBelle Posted November 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2006 My girlfriend and I will be cruising for the first time on the Dawn. (my first ever cruise) We are both college students and trying not to break a budget...too late! Is there an easy way to bring some liquore on board or will it get confinscated? (maybe in a suitcase?) What about when the Dawn reaches international waters, can you purchase liquore from the duty-free shops and bring it back to your cabin. On past cruises my girlfriend was been able to purchase liquore the first sailing day and bring it back to the cabin. Thanks for any help!! If purchased in the duty free store they deliver it the last evening or last morning of the cruise. Luggage is all scanned, if liquor is suspected in any bag they detain the bag and have you come down and open the bag for them to inspect. If liquor is found they keep it and give it back to you at the end of the cruise. You can bring wine on, if you pay the $15 per bottle corkage fee. KeystoneCruiser Posted November 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2006 Bottled water is also an acceptable drink to bring on board. Many people have taken a case or two of pop, juice or water on board. Most just put an NCL luggage tag (that you will get in your docs) on the case and send it through. It will show up at your cabin with the rest of your luggage! The $40 soda card breaks down to about 3 sodas a day if you were to purchase them individually. (and that doesn't include the 15% service charge) If you don't want to bring your own soda and you think you will drink an average of 3 sodas a day, then go for the card!
