kathyemma Posted November 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Well, Emma and I had a wonderful time on the ship. The ports were wonderful and the weather was perfect. Check in was easy - once the bus finally made it the hotel (almost an hour late) to get us. There was a lady in line next to me and she had lost her passport somewhere between the bus and check in. Noone could find it - I sure hope she got on the boat! Our cabin was a standard balcony. (although, rci's rooms are a bit larger and the balconys smaller). Never figured out our room steward's name - but he was very nice. Never learned our waiter's name either - he wasn't very nice. Got the idea he did not like the fact I was traveling without a husband. The wine steward didn't even come to me until the 3rd night. Good thing i don't drink at dinner. I was chalking it up to the fact that they were FULL and maybe that doesn't happen to often. The food was great - except for the last night - didn't even finish eating - and dessert that night didn't look good - so left early to go the casino and then hit the lido late night for ice cream. The lido was great - much better than the buffet on rci. The pizza was to die for. Wish i had some now. The lines were very long - so they need to come up with a better system - but other than that it was great. My daughter did point out that they had no kiwi fruit on board and that is her favorite. The taco bar by the pool kind of creeped me out - everyone was standing by the food dripping with pool water - so i stayed away from that. The islands were great - didn't really enjoy the baths. If i were to go again i would skip it - not worth the money at all. Sonny Liston - AMAZING. I would pay even more to go on another tour with him. He was so much fun!!! I will post more later - have to start laundry. Kathy PS The casino SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And not just because I lost all my gambling money (and then some) but because the dealers can't do math - I will explain later.

Great minds think alike - we are cruising next week too, but we will be on the Veendam. Mary
kikiwik Posted November 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Is Que Back on board yet? He was our cruise director when we went to alaska in september. Our cabin steward was Ishlah and he was amazing. I wonder if you had him? And i agree that the casino people can't do math. I'd be interested to hear what you have to say. missygirl Posted November 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2006 We will be on the Zuiderdam on Feb. 3. What was the Sonny Liston tour? At which stop? Sonny is a private tour in St. Thomas $25 pp. If you like upbeat, singing funny stories he is the tour for you. It is a long tour, he takes you to town for shopping, 2 hours sightseeing and two hours beach. We used him for our Nov 11-18 sailing and would recommend him. Missygirl Hi Rhonda: Sorry that I have not been in touch sooner after our cruise. I don't know about you, but getting back to "normal" was very difficult after our fabulous cruise. The disembarkation and flight home was painless, thank goodness. We were off the ship and in the airport in less than 1/2 hour once they called our color and number. I am at work and would have emailed you, but your email address is at home and I just found this posting by you. Thanksgiving came way too soon, but we managed to get it all together and had a wondeful day. It was great meeting you and David and maybe some day our paths will cross again. Please keep in touch. Warm regards, Arlene

ziggi426 Posted November 28, 2006 #17 Share Posted November 28, 2006 Hi We are also just back from 18th Nov sailing and had a fantastic time. Just back from Miami today so little jet lagged. Loved all of the islands on this tour and good weather (except Fort Lauderdale pre cruise when a little chilly!) Will do a full review later - we won a free cruise to be taken in next 18 months on board so will get to go back again next year! D x
