About the chocolate buffet...you never said what time? Midnight? I have a theory...actually it started as a scarey thought on my last cruise. Just imagine everyone onboard rushing to the back of the ship at the same time to fill up on several hundred (maybe even thousands) pounds of chocolate. Ooops! Fortunately some people turn in early and can't be tempted get up at midnight to fill up on the sweets...I tried this once and the chocolate won! Well, these people might be a bit lighter than me :p but I still think they help to distribute the weight and keep the ship from standing on end. :D

4 1/2 months until my 14 nights on the Pearl and I don't care if they have to roll me off in the end as long as I get my fair share plus a few extra pieces of chocolate! Want to get a strange reaction from your waiter? Try ordering a dessert as an appetizer! It was the end of the cruise and I was afraid that they might run out of pistachio ice cream before I was done eating. ;) "But Ma'am do you really want to eat your dessert 1st

Love the blogs...just terrific.

I know that you've been partaking of lunch (and maybe breakfast) in Cagney's.

However, can you let us know what's doing in the standard restaurants during those two meals? How's the process working...are folks being seated and served in a, relatively, timely manner?

Thanks and continued bon voyaging!

Ciao,

Great:D ........The regular restaurants? That you have eaten in....OK?

I believe we have the new menus so you don`t have to go to the trouble:)

Won't be much toruble at all, plus they are going into the scrap book.

Let me say, You will NOT find a bad a meal on this ship. We have eatten in Blue Lagoon, short of the shephard pie seeming like sloppy joe. I have not found anything I do not like. Almost everynight, our Butler gets Choclate Chip for Candice and "White Macadamian Cookies" for me from Garden Cafe, plus choclate milk. I am so much in heaven.

The regular dining restruants have had awesome menus. Granted, Sommer has ate in Sushi twice now for lunch. It is 12.50 cover, but all you can eat. SO cheaper than home. Let her get her fill, save me money later at home. Never thought of a cruise saving me money before.

We had dinner last night with the Captain and Claus. Also invited were two other couples. Very nice people to meet. Claus had his F&B crew hunt up a make do Fondue pot, yesterday. OMG, it was heavenly. After that, we went back to the room for a breather and went to Chocoholics Buffet in the Garden Cafe (Mid Ship @ 10:30). Each Food Station had its own little area of chocolate desert. It was well laid out and never seemed crowded like other buffets I have been to. There was plenty to go around. I was really impressed with the chocolate rendition of the Pearl.

I feel confident in saying, there are enough choices for eatting that one should never go hungry on this ship. I should warn that some food though is very very rich.

Granted the wrath from my Doctor will be mean, but he did take an oath to do no harm,so he can't kill me. SO more cruises in my future. Seriously, with the seas leveling out, I will go get some serious walking in. But haveingOsteoporious I have been reluctant to go walking on the pitching deck just yet.

I am sure FlyPirate will have some photos to post of her suite, as she is in that one. We both agree, I got the better suite. But based purely on decour. The 14000 suite is done in a blue colored Carpet. The 14500 is an orange colored carpet.

But overall the suites are the same. We will have them up on Wednesday I am sure.

How about orderig an appetizer as dessert :D ? We've seriously considered ordering one of the delicious cold soups as dessert. In fact, on our last cruise, we were debating ordering one for an appetizer, one for our lunch entree, and one for dessert. This was before they reappeared on the new menus and we weren't getting our cruise fix of cold soups.

Since I can NOT get Le'Occtaine here where I live I have to fly to New York, Atlanta or L.A. to buy it...so there will be no money left to go cruiseing!!!

(Psst....I order online, and save about $800 airfare each time!;) )

They have Xmas specials right now - Nice!!

Biker Al...I guess the storm wouldn't have bothered us too much from this end. Without the sound we wouldn't even know if it was making that banging noise at the front of the ship. :D I would have gone running to the casino to check out that machine that sweeps and steals all my quarters! Could someone please check to see if they have any of those on the Pearl? This time I plan to bring a disguise so Hubby won't find me. Nothing worse than being the last person in the casino and looking up to see him sitting across from me at 2AM.

ute_fan...I have a theory on the cold soups. Could some of them be the left over ice cream flavor of the day (day before that is) in a different form? I can usually count on having chilled pistachio soup the day after they have my ice cream

Any chance they have a popcorn machine aboard???:D

That's funny! My first ever post on cc was complaining about the lack of on demand popcorn and ice cream on the NCL Sea after my two week ride thru the Panama Canal aboard the Carnival Ecstasy. On my subsequent NCL cruises, I brought microwaveable popcorn with me, although the Dawn had some from time to time in their sports bar.

KDG51 -- Never noticed that correlation myself, but I suppose anything is possible. I've actually seen recipes for a few of them, so I don't think they all are, but I guess certain ones might be. There was only one of them that had ice cream as an ingredient -- the rest had mostly cream or half and half.

I just need another cruise now that they're back on the dinner menus!

The DAWN and the STAR both had popcorn machines, but they have removed them because the popcorn is too messy.:(

I will bring my own microwave bags along on the next cruise.:)

Fri – 4 pm – middle of nowhere – sun is out – seas are 4-7 feet.

Where did I leave off. Days are blending together. Dinner last night in Mambos’. It was fine. service was very good. Spent the morning on the balcony soaking up the sun and drinking double espressos. Lunch at Cagneys. Off to the pool area for the afternoon. Dinner tonight Teppanyki again.

Last night Bliss was rocking – I think at one time there were 4 people dancing and as many as 14 people in the space. We closed the place last night around 2:30 – who needs a crowd to have fun Just a few good folks from the roll call.

No draft beer or soda onboard – it seems but not confirmed there is a problem with material used for the lines and it imparts an after taste to the beer. Added to the punch list in Miami.

I understand there is a shuttle lunch this weekend – we should have an interesting view as it heads towards us. I hope we regain CNN prior to give us a status.

Maybe later – off to the spa now

From the last forty posts – that is all I cached –

They have an ice cream action station in the Garden Café- far better ice cream the the containers of mix they dumped in the machine – how do you compare sugar free hard to super sugar filled soft serve frozen custard.

The elite please – have not used the butler yet and made all my own reservations. In fact I just booked two at Teppanyki this afternoon for tonight. FYI the Bistro is only $10 half price before 6 pm, Cagney’s is now down to $15, Chin Chin is $10, Sushi is $12.50, and the grand daddy of all Tepanyki $20.

Not checking any other threads – logon paste – get off. Read logon paste get off.

Kdg51 – they have two token eating machines – They were great fun during the storms. I sat there watching roulette. Every few minutes a few more tokens would fall out and I had to return them to the machine. There as not been a night I didn’t find a few tokens in the tray. I would never put my money in but I always return the casino’s money..lol

Speaking of the casino it is no longer separated from the passageway like the Dawn and Jewel. Like Vegas you have to pass thru the casino to get to Stardust. Machines are wall to wall. Night before last the moved four machines into the direct path driving more passengers deeper into the casino to get thru.

Hello Shoreguy...please send SnorkelBarb a big "Hug from King Marcus"...LOL!!! I can not wait anymore till I am on board in a week! You still have a couple of wonderful fun filled sunny days ahead. We got last night 3 inches of snow and the thermometer was showing -2 degrees! So I guess even a bit of swell is better! I believe they will fix everything in Miami as soon as possible, before the big event. I'm so excited...wished you would have been on as well and we could have finally met. Have a great cruise and give as well Ruth and Klausimausi a huge HUG!

Marcus
