Thanks for the pic of the kiddie pool.....I know my three year old will love it, but I think my six year old might find it a little babyish....oh well...we will explore some other options for him.....

Thanks again....you are AWESOME for dedicating your valuable (and I'm sure much deserved) vacation time to share your experience with all of us out there in cyberspace! We really learn so much about the ship(s) from everyone on these boards!!!!

Thank you Shoreguy for your update on the change issue. We will now ALL benefit from your efforts on our behalf. As for those who felt they were just offering an "opinion" as to how you handled everything and their subsequent erroronious conclusions' date=' perhaps they will have enough grace to offer you the apologies you deserve.[/quote'] I stand by every single word I said. An opinion is just that...an opinion. My opinion doesn't change just because someone disagrees with it.

I think we all have strong opinions here.:D That said, I've been here for less than a year, but Shoreguy seems to be one of the most even-tempered, helpful, and entertaining posters here. "Throwing someone under a bus" seems unlikely, and I'd certainly give him the benefit of the doubt (not that he needs any help from me:) ).

Agreed, give him the benefit of the doubt, he is certainly the most helpful and knowledgable person on any of these boards, except maybe for Host Andy.

"AC pictures – see Jewel – those cabins are all booked and for the most part those passengers have been in bed as their cabin moved up and down 30 feet." (from Shoreguy).

We were in 20 footers in an AC on Deck 9 last January on the Jewel and that was pretty intense. I can barely imagine 30 footers!:D

You're certainly entitled to your opinion of Shoreguy and his temperament. But I didn't say he threw anyone under any bus. He said that. And I agree, Shoreguy is a fountain of information and he's helped probably thousands of cruisers. He's an asset to the community. However, that doesn't mean I can't disagree with how he handled a situation. What I know is there was a conversation with a staff member. The answers weren't what SG wanted so he told Klaus so Klaus could give the guy a hint. As stated, the situation also resulted in a solution to the problem. However, I disagree with how that situation was handled. I'm not sure how that's lead to all the nastiness directed at me by over a dozen members except that no one wants me to disagree with Shoreguy. Be that as it may...I still disagree. I don't apologize for feeling that way and I won't be bullied. So everyone can keep commenting on me and saying mean things but I stand by my opinion of the situation.

I look forward to each and every one. And you are most gracious for taking time out of your vacation to once again assist those of us who come here with questions.

Happy, too, that the quarter machine issue has been resolved. So how was the virtual reality game? Do you have to wear a helmet? (Disclaimer: that is from my DH not ME!). :D

Thanks again and keep on bon voyaging!

Ciao,

12:10 am Dec 6.

Seas 4 to 7 feet Moderate, winds 22 knots, temp 62 F, sea temp 66 F, location 37 13.19 N, 026 27.23 W. speed 22 knots. Heading 225.3 - Anything else you all need …lol

Start with the important things – Casino was very good to me after dinner. Now well ahead for the cruise in fact I could have booked this cruise on tonight’s profits. Had to wait for the video replay to get paid off on one hand of 3 card poker at 40 to 1 . Dinner was even better. Great group of CC members onboard. Even better war stories from the storm days. Forward suite passengers were given a second cabin mid ship to sleep in. Klaus and the Captain stopped by our dinner much to everyone’s delight. I have decided there is nobody on an NCL ship that Snorkeling Barb does not know.

Flying Pirate and I started a sit in demanding a free cruise and full refund for the trauma of cruising through a hurricane. Tomorrow we will raise our demands to two free cruises. Just because we are having a great time is no excuse for not requesting unreasonable demands on NCL.

I will let Flying Pirate explain the parade of young men in and out of her villa. Somehow I think Barbra had a hand it that plot.

Stopped back at the casino and got a roll of quarters as instructed. We Finally tried out the virtual reality machine. The first coin slot jammed but I did not dare ask for my 3 quarters back as I was sure that would be to complex a problem. Slot two worked. It was pretty cool. My prediction it will be off the ship in a year. It takes up a lot of space with little payback and will be high maintenance.

Once you see Bliss you may have the same impression. It would make a great gentlemen’s club. I can’t imagine what it will be like when spring break meets the Pearl.

Update on the food from the others onboard. No complains on variety , quality, or quantity. A few issues with slow service but keep in mind many of the crew were unable to answer the bell like the passengers. I like the rest of you am interested to here their impressions of this maiden journey.

Just in case you have no figured it out most of us are having a great time on the Pearl. Like the blizzard cruise on the Dawn it is the cruises that have a little adventure you will remember best years from now.

Good night from the beautiful NCL Pearl in the middle of nowhere. Need to rest up for tomorrows first ever CC bowling tournament at sea.

Don't you think you're also ENTITLED to an on board credit too?

Don't sell yourselves short...think of how you've been traumatized!!!! :D  :D

1:45 am -Just checked the cache – I am done with one subject

Idjaffa – you will have to warm it up yourself. I have not seen a single roll of the dice on this cruise so far. In fact tonight was the first night I saw more then 3 people at any table.

Dragon flies are still on the carpet in the Stardust

4 lanes of bowling - $5 per game two bowler minimum.

Matt – no problem a logical assumption – you know what happens when we break down the word assume…..lol

Dcfargo – you have picked a great ship for your first cruise. At dinner tonight one of CC members took the time to stand up and toast the CC members onboard. This was his and his wife’s first cruise and even with all we have encountered they were delighted to be onboard.

Conch17 – check with Snooppy2 or Flying Pirate – when we were up there the seas and winds made access to the outside impossible.

WAWW – no helmet – it is an arcade machine that is like the back to the future ride at Universal. Video screen and the chairs move and shake to the video. It will empty your pockets..lol

I don't believe anyone on here cares if you disagree with Shoreguy or not. It is the tone of the disagreement which is sitting so sourly with many.

As you said, it's hard to hear inflection, tone, etc. on a message board. I can't control how someone interprets what I said. I won't respond to this issue again.

Shoreguy,

Your posts are great. I can tell you are loving the cruise, and I am glad this is the case.

Who is the cruise director aboard the Pearl? Is it 5 dollars per person per game for the bowling?

Thanks and enjoy!

-Matt

I thought we were going to make this one long cruise instead of demanding free ones. We just weren't going to pull in directly to Miami.

Jim, Thanks for sharing the info on the parade of young men in her Villa. Sommer walks out of ours and there is Klaus and crew and they are like grovleing at her feet. Not sure what that Piratewoman is doing, but she has this gang in line.

All Kidding aside:

Conch17, The upper decks is somewhat limited. Essentially, the upper sundeck villa space is limited to just the area above the staterooms. So the new owners suites, Black Pearl and Gold Pearl are directly over living rooms of the Villas. There are only stairs to get up there, no elevator, that I can find so far. I will try to shoot some pictures and post them next week, when we get home.

As of right now, we are at Our trip sort of taken minor detour with our 89 yr old Grandmother. As previously mentioned, she took a good bump into the wall of her stateroom during the rough seas and her back was giving her some problems before we left home. However, it hurt when she took breaths in and could not walk very well. So we got her a wheel chair and went to the CC dinner and she took her pain meds, that she brough from home. However, after dinner, she was not feeling any better. So we went to Medical.

First off, let me say the medical department is top notch. It was closed at the time, but we called the operator and told him that we needed to see the Doc to make sure there was not something deeper. We were waiting right outside the locked medical door. Within minutes the nurse was there. Within 5 minutes, Ruth was calling Sommer to find out what was going on. Luckily, we think she bruised a rib or something along those lines and she is limited to bed rest, sadly, it is my stateroom she is going to have to sleep in, as it easiests for someone to walk to the bathroom of the 3 staterooms.

Today, seas seem to be alot calmer and they are now putting the deck chairs around the now filled pools. So I think we are in for anice day at sea. Perhaps a real vacation can start now with some relaxation. Our current location is roughly 2670nm from Miami Pilot point. 36.31N, 29.47W is the plot for those of you vactionign vicariously through our posts.
