cathi007 Posted November 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2006 Hey everyone, well we just got back so this will be brief. Getting on the ship wasn't bad, got to pier about 1:30, on ship about an hour later. Went right to cabin and unpacked. We had a bd balcony on the 9th deck and kids had a jj inside. Their rom was small. Ours was fine for two, but I think it would be hard with 3. The ship was pretty nice, liked the decor. I have to be honest, this is CC, I like the RCL Raidience better. Although I thought most of the staff on the Spirit was better than RCL. The casino had a great staff anf Dorthy in Windows was the best. Our cabin guys were Joel and Jose. They were both Philipino, and they tend to be awesome ppl. The pool was a good size and the kiddie area was cool. We had awesome weather, except in Barbados, it poured all day. Oh I have to say I wasn't pleased with the security coming back on the ship from Barbados, there wasn't any. We bought alcohol from the islands for gifts and bought it right up to the room. I founf this to be very bad security. There were many ppl I talked to that were complaining about this. I still feel like I'm on the ship, ya know the rocking part, so I will do a more in-depth review over the weekend. Feel free to ask any questions. All in all we had a wonderful time, and I wish I were still there, 11 days isn't enough, Cathi
Don Haynes Posted November 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2006 Thanks for the nice summary. I can't wait for the entire review. In my opinion every cruise line and every ship is a bit different.

montycjv Posted December 2, 2006 #9 Share Posted December 2, 2006 Just back too from the 11 day Spirit 11/19-11/30 11 days went way too fast!!!! For now, just a quick run down of the islands: We are just coming back to reality and it is hard to write about it being over!!!:( We had a great time and so did our kids. The itinerary was great and the islands were beautiful except for the rain in Barbados, so we never got to the beach that day. It rained the last time we went to Barbados too!! Oh well. Not one of our favorites anyway!! (We Agree with Cathi) The beaches were great on each of the other islands, but we did a tour on Dominica, because there are just the black sand beaches.. We would highly recommend this island tour to people who would love to see an island full of beauty and untouched nature. Be prepared to walk though.... We did this on our own ahead of time!!..(Thank you Cruise Critic for having this wonderful site) We found "Renyo Tours" He was great, trusting, and his tour guides were as well. We never imagined this island was as beautiful as it really was. Renyo made it all worth the trip and he will accomodate your needs and where you want to go.:) So, if anyone needs more info..be glad to answer what we can..:o This message board for us was great in our preparation to sail/so we know! We wish we were still there, as we are now working on 7 loads of laundry!! MONTY

Crackers12 Posted December 14, 2006 #11 Share Posted December 14, 2006 The Security thing- tell me about it- i work for NCL and i was so mad that i didn't bring any booze onboard!... The bus pick up was in a different location that particular port- usually the bus picks u up right infront of the x ray machines so you have to go thru them to load the bus.. not sure if this was due to the torrential downpours that day. When you come in from town- you have to go thru the x ray machine, as its right there where the cabs drop you off- hopefully you had to go thru that if you were in town. If you just went into the terminal and back to the ship you'd have missed it. Anyway- at least you got some booze, and there isn't much you can buy in the terminal that you can hurt someone with (on the bright side)
