Reservations Update (have room and car in North Ft. Lauderdale)

We are staying at Crossland Studios on Commercial Blvd in Ft. Lauderdale. I know a lot of people will probably not think this is the best option, but we are fine with it. As I've mentioned, we've slept on rooftops in the dead of summer in the Middle East (Syria and Egypt), so we aren't so concerned about it not being a great room. Is it in a high crime area (I hope not). we were able to get the car and hotel for about 90.00. I know staying at Amerisuites would have worked out cheaper, but we really do need a car (we are meeting DH's dad who lives in Miami for dinner).

 

Now, what is there to do in Ft. Lauderdale? Any good museums?
