Credit Card Advice!

If you are going to use your credit card in a foreign country, call them and let them know. I didn't think of this, but my mom told me. Well, I've had the same CC for 10 years. WHen I first had it, it got stolen and maxed out in Mexico. I have a flag on my account from then that if the card is used in Mexico, it will be automatically shut down! And, I'm going to Mexico. Good thing I figured this out before I left! Just some advice for everybody!

I went to Mexico a few years ago and used my credit card on the first day. When I tried to use it again that evening, it was denied. I called the credit card company immediately and they said that they had left a message on my home phone about it. I was in Cancun! I was able to straighten everything out and was able to continue using it. Now whenever I travel out of the country, even to Europe, I call them and let them know.
