Parking near pier in FLL

Does Ft. Lauderdale have a parking lot with free shuttle to pier like Miami does?

Port Everglades parking by Park 'n Fly. $9.00 per day. They're great at getting you to the port, not so great at getting you back to your car after your cruise. Unless your lucky you could wait up to an hour and a half to get back to their lot.

Although Port Everglades costs $3 per day more at least your car is safe and secure in a covered parking garage, out of the elements, patrolled by the Broward County Sheriff 24/7. A short walk to the cruise terminal, easy in & out. :rolleyes:

Our experience with PNF on our most recent cruise (Dec 17-23) was nothing short of a nightmare :eek: ...they were completely overwhelmed by the huge numbers of cruise pax. We waited over 90 minutes to get picked up; many had been waiting over 2 hours. Vans would just speed by & pick up other groups that had just pulled in; there was no organization whatsoever. Some folks just gave up & called a cab. At least it wasn't raining! :p

 

:mad: Disembarkation day wasn't much better; we waited 90 minutes as well. Probably not their fault, though; the traffic was so snarled getting into the port that nothing could move. We saw a line of cars backed up for at least 1/2 mile crawling toward pier 29 (we sailed from 21, docked at 29 ; they had nowhere to go as the loading/unloading area was jammed up. At least PNF had brought in a number of larger vans to handle the crowds, they just couldn't get back & forth due to the traffic.

 

And to top it off, those that parked in the port had to catch a shuttle over to the midport garage, as pier 29 isn't adjacent to the garage! So parking in the port wouldn't have been much better.

 

PNF has always been reliable for airport parking; I certainly wouldn't not use them again just because of this one incident.
