? about prices

I've noticed after reading a lot about the locals from Puerto Rico getting a really big discounted rate on the Destiny. Now I am just wondering, since I am from NY, howcome I am not getting a discount on my Miracle cruise that sails out of NY next year? Just to let you know that I have no problem paying the price that I got. I'm just curious, that's all.

Thanks. :)

The reason is kinda simple. Supply and demand! People in the northeast are used to paying inflated prices for everything, so they are quite willing (or so it seems) to pay inflated prices for cruises. Cruise lines charge whatever price the market will bear, and as long as they can fill their ships at the higher prices, they will do so! This is not the case elsewhere, such as in Puerto Rico where cruise lines must sometimes reduce rates to the bone in order to fill the ship.
