... which of these two hotels would you select: Courtyard by Marriott Air and Sea Port, Gulf Stream Way, Dania Beach, OR Holiday Inn Express Air and Sea Port, 1150 W. State Road 84?

 

Both have free airport and pier shuttles. HI is about $13 more total for the two nights pre-cruise next month but includes free breakfast buffet - Courtyard has an "affordable" buffet.

 

Is one location better than the other? Does one hotel have easier access to shops and eateries? Any other pros or cons?

Ted, I'd recommend the Marriott Courtyard. It's a brand new property and the location is a lot better then the one on SR84. Directly next door is the Fishing Hall of Fame and the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World (the Home Depot of hunting/fishing/boating etc). They offer a really nice selection of clothing too. Within Outdoor World is the Islamorada Fish Company...excellent seafood restaurant, delicious menu. The hotel equal distance from the airport and the seaport, both aound 10 minutes or less away. Have a great stay. ;)
