...while true for the Ecstasy, in case you are looking at others, not all ships have the first formal night on the first sea day, it is almost always the second night on board (never heard or seen it otherwise), for many east coast departures, that is not a sea day.

We are thinking about taking a 4 day cruise on the Ecstacy. My question is does the Ecstacy have a formal night like the 5 and 7 day cruises?

This is a nice agenda for a few days off from work. One note; you are departing on a weekday and our traffic can be a little unpredictable. From Brownsville coming in US 59 take the Beltway 8 toll system completely around the southwest part of Houston. Then exit I-45 South.

A second option would be Hwy 6 south to 45 as well. Whatever you do the route that takes you into downtown would be the least desirable.

The Ecstasy is one of the ships in Galveston that often allows boarding as early as noon. That'd be a 6:00 am departure from Brownsville if you drove up the day of your sailing.

Here are some images of the ship:

These are before the refurbishment, but give you an idea about the fantasy class Carnival ships.

We sailed her again on a 5 nighter over Thanksgiving. A little windy and cold but a great vacation.

Thanks for the info. I know houston and outlining areas have grown so much. When we normally go to houston to visit old friends we usually hit hwy 6 to Sant Fe (I finished high school there). Now I'm just trying to figure out if I should keep my car at my friends house or park it in Galveston.
