golf43 Posted January 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2007 We are going on the Sensation in April. I am wondering about this excursion. The details say there is shopping at the Crystal shopping court. What could we expect to find in this shopping court? Has anyone taken this excursion? Thanks

Thanks You'll find high end Rodeo Drive shoppes like Cartier, Bvlgari, Ferragamo, Facconable, Baccarat and others. Keep in mind that this tour isn't much more than a ferry to Atlantis ($6r/t and the DIGS' tour. ($29 pp.)

pittsbcruiser Posted January 7, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2007 I'm confused , carnival state that on this excursion you will also have access to the beaches and pools. Is this not true?
alphakitty Posted January 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2007 I'm confused , carnival state that on this excursion you will also have access to the beaches and pools. Is this not true? No, unfortunately, you do not have access to pools or beach. You are escorted through the digs (45 minutes) and then you can go to the casino or shopping. The Carnival website clearly says there is no access. "You will not have access to the Atlantis pool, beach or hotel facilities. Guests with walking difficulties or those using wheelchairs are advised to speak with our Staff onboard prior to booking this excursion." http://www.carnival.com/ShoreExcursionDetails.aspx?portcode=NAS&excursionname=Discover+Atlantis+%26+Historical+Harbor+Cruise&excursioncode=424025
snowbun3 Posted January 8, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2007 We went on this excursion last April and loved it. We did have access to the beach- it was beautiful and we swam out to a floating raft with our pina coladas- it was beautiful!

Atlantis used to offer a "beach Break" thru the cruiselines, but this is no longer the case. Although some people plop themselves down and go unnoticed, it's not a part of the package.. and you may be asked to leave. There's a public beach about 200 meters to the Right, which would allow you to enjoy the beach for free.
vermonter16 Posted January 8, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Do you know if there is any snorkeling off this beach?
scubagirrl Posted January 8, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Do you know if there is any snorkeling off this beach? NO.. not really. theres an internal "snorkeling lagoon" (manmade beach" )on the the grounds which is seeded with fish.. but it's pretty lame and you have to be a guest to use it. The natural beach has no reef system nearby, and the surf is a bit rough at times, so there's no snorkeling. If you walk up the beach to the right, past the Riu and Private beach up towards Ocean Club-- quite a walk.. you'll find some rocks and there's some minor snorkeling, but really not anything to talk about. Generally speaking, there is NOT any good snorkeling off the beaches in Nassau. The reefs are broken down and overused. You'll need to take a tour to one of the reefs or Sea Gardens to see any significant waterlife.
