GLCAS Posted January 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2007 Has anyone had the balcony dinner? How is it? Is the food as good as the dining room? Was it served hot? Did you feel cramped? etc...

Toto2Kansas Posted January 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2007 I did a search and found the menu on the Internet. Here is the link: http://www.cruisingthecaribbeanprincess.com/UBD.pdf We have never tried it, but know those who have and they say it is absolutely wonderful, served coarse by coarse and one of the best dining experiences they have had onboard a ship. Julia’s Journey’s Posted January 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2007 A group of us did this in September, the food was awesome and the service great, we ordered our main meal the day before, had a cocktail, champaine and great food, each couple got a picture too. It was a wonderful change and a special night with great company.
kokonut06 Posted January 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2007 Would we book this the day we board? I want to make sure we can do this and do not wait to long incase there are only so many they can do per day. Is there anyday they don't do the Balcony dining? Or, if we come back on the ship after a long day in port and we don't feel like going out to dinner, can you book it last minute for the same night? Sounds Fabulous !!!!!!!!! Sumar76 Posted January 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2007 We also did the dinner when we went to China last year on the Diamond. It was great....food excellent, flowers, wait staff at your disposal, and of course a picture. They bring in one course then leave to give you privacy, then return a few minutes later. We celebrated our anniversary, so besides the regular dessert, they brought a small chocolate layer cake, and sang to us! We were in a mini-suite, so had the dinner out on the balcony. They set the table in our room earlier in the day, then just carried it out at the right time. I think it was very memorable, and you honsetly feel like the cruise is specifically for you! And my husband wants to do it again when we go on the S.A./Antactica cruise in a week! Call room service when you get on board to arrange, as they only do one a night I think. When we tried to arrange it, alot of staff, including the matre' de, didn't know anything about it, so we got alittle of a run around. But once we called room service, all went very smooth. We were also in a mini on the Dolphin Deck. So we were "exposed". And really didn't feel like we were looked at all...except for when they sang! Have fun, and enjoy!! Sumar76 Posted January 13, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 13, 2007 Kokonut06 Think you'd better plan ahead...as they are very limited in the number they do per night..If I remember correctly there might be a night or 2 that they don't do it..I'm thinking formal nights, but I may be mistaken. So call when you get aboard and schedule! Don't think you will be disappointed! Sue

You cannot book it at the last minute cause they request you order your entree the day before so they can plan it ahead.
